Built by combining seven practices.
Charter is not a startup with a marketing budget. It was assembled over decades by acquiring smaller accounting practices around Atlanta and folding their clients, their files and their histories into one firm. Some of the people we file for now were filing with us before the business had this name.
What we believe
Filing is the report. Planning is the decision.
Most accounting firms are organised around deadlines, which means the entire relationship happens after the year is over and nothing can be changed. By then the only question left is how accurately we describe what already happened.
Charter is organised the other way around. The returns still get filed, correctly and on time, but the conversation that matters happens in the months before, when the structure, the timing and the elections are still yours to choose.
That is also why the firm stays small. Planning work does not scale by hiring faster than you can train.

Senior Preparer & Tax Manager
Zach Woods
Runs preparation day to day. If you are a tax preparation client, Zach is the person you will speak to most through filing season.
Preparation, Bookkeeping & Payroll
Drew Daniel
Handles bookkeeping and payroll alongside preparation, and manages e-filing. Your monthly numbers come from Drew.

All preparers hold current PTINs and are authorised IRS e-file providers.
Written information security plan
Maintained as required of tax professionals under the FTC Safeguards Rule, and reviewed annually.
Where we are
Alpharetta, filing everywhere.
The office is in Alpharetta and clients are welcome in it. Most of the work happens through the secure portal, which is why a good part of the client list is nowhere near Georgia.
We prepare and file across multiple states, including for owners who moved mid-year, businesses operating in more than one state, and property held outside the state you live in.
