Lane 02 · Tax Preparation

Every return is reviewed by Deborah before it files.

Not spot-checked. Read. Thirty-seven years of pattern recognition applied to your return before it goes anywhere, which is how things get caught that software does not flag.

What is covered

Returns we prepare

Individual

Form 1040 and every schedule behind it, including Schedule C, Schedule E rental income, capital gains, and multi-state filings.

Business

S corporations, C corporations, partnerships and multi-member LLCs, including the K-1s that flow to every owner.

Trusts and estates

Fiduciary returns, and the coordination with the beneficiaries' own filings that usually gets missed.

Amended returns

Prior years reopened where something was missed, generally reachable about three years back.

Extensions

Filed properly, with the estimate that goes with them, so an extension does not turn into a penalty.

Multi-state

Moved mid-year, operate across state lines, or hold property elsewhere. Each state is its own set of rules.

How it runs

From documents to filed

01Scoping.A short questionnaire covering entities, states, and what changed this year. You get a written price, not a range.
02Your checklist opens.Your portal shows exactly which documents we need for your situation. W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, prior year return, whatever applies. Not a generic list.
03Prepared, then reviewed.Zach prepares. Deborah reviews. If something looks like it should have been planned differently, you hear about it before next year rather than after.
04Signed and filed. You review, e-sign, and we file. The filed copy lands in your portal organised by year and stays there.

One thing worth knowing

A return can only report what already happened.

If you want a different number next year, the work has to happen before the year closes. Preparation clients who also plan are the ones whose bill actually moves.

  • Pricing is scoped, never a flat range
  • Documents move through the portal, never email
  • Deborah reviews before anything files
  • Prior year issues flagged, not ignored

Planning notes

Occasional notes on planning ahead.

A short note when something changes that is worth acting on. No selling, and you can leave at any time.
